Productivity losses and equity in economic evaluation
Thursday 19 March, 11am

We are delighted to welcome Dr Angela Devine to present our next ISPOR NZ webinar, on the measurement of productivity losses and the equity implications of including productivity losses in health economic evaluations.
The webinar will be held via Zoom at 11am on Thursday 19 March. To register, please complete the form on this page.
Abstract
One of the key challenges in estimating the societal cost per malaria episode has been gathering data on productivity losses. Productivity loses have been consistently the largest cost component for malaria episodes, highlighting its importance when including these data. While consultations with stakeholders have indicated that these costs are important to include, it remains unclear what best practices might be for measuring and valuing productivity losses. This talk will describe some of the studies that have collected data on productivity losses and the methodological challenges these have presented, and equity concerns that will need to be concerned when including productivity losses in economic evaluations.
