Associate Professor in Health Services Research / Deputy Director

The Health Services Research Centre (HSRC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic senior academic for the role of Associate Professor in Health Services Research. Concurrently with the permanent role of Associate Professor a fixed term role (3-5 years) at 0.4 FTE as Deputy Director of the HSRC will be carried out. Our premier research centre within the Faculty of Health, Victoria University of Wellington is located in downtown Wellington, on the Pipitea campus, and has strong relationships with national policy and health service stakeholders.

The successful applicant will provide research leadership across the Centre, lead collaborative grant applications and successfully win research grant funding. They will conduct research to an international standard in health services research, developing both their own research programme and working with other researchers. The role will also involve postgraduate research supervision and teaching on the Faculty of Health undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in winning research funding. They should also demonstrate a strong international reputation in research and possess an excellent record of academic leadership and research scholarship, both in terms of publications and funded research. They should be established in any health services research or associated discipline with a background in health economics, health policy, social sciences or other field relevant to health services research.
